JC Lugo is currently a PhD student in the Urban Schooling division at UCLA where his research focuses on the ways that Latino male high school students that identify as queer navigate and disrupt heteronormative schooling contexts. He also teaches in the Teacher Education Division at CSU Dominguez Hills where he received a master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum & Instruction. JC is a former high school teacher and has also worked in higher education as the coordinator for the Male Success Alliance.
