Aydin Olson-Kennedy is the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Gender Center. He began his career working with youth in foster care and group homes, the juvenile justice system, and those experiencing homelessness or precariously housed. Aydin's advocacy work has included assisting youth and adult victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Over the past 12 years, his career as a mental health professional has primarily focused on providing services for gender non-conforming and transgender youth, adults, and their families. He has written hundreds of letters of recommendation for surgical interventions using an informed consent model. Aydin is considered an international expert on gender dysphoria and working with transgender youth and their parents. He provides training to medical and mental health professionals across the US and internationally to broaden clinicians' understanding of gender dysphoria as an experience and its impact on an individuals' psychosocial well-being.
