Brian Allen, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist who currently serves as the Director of Mental Health Services at the Penn State Children’s Hospital’s Center for the Protection of Children. He also is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry in the Penn State College of Medicine. Dr. Allen conducts research on the developmental impact of childhood trauma and maltreatment, the effectiveness and implementation of clinical interventions for children, and problematic sexual behavior among children. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Children’s Miracle Network, and other public and private agencies. To date, he has published over 50 scientific papers and book chapters, serves on the editorial board of multiple scientific journals, and is the author of the upcoming book Attachment Theory and Research: A Practical Introduction.
