Sierra Kuzava, PhD, is the associate director of the Family Development Program at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She earned her PhD in clinical psychology from Stony Brook University, and completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. There she specialized in treating children, families, and parents facing stress and trauma.

As associate director of the Family Development, Dr. Kuzava oversees psychological services for families with infants who have been hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and conducts research and program development related to this population. She is passionate about supporting families across the transition to parenthood, and has authored numerous papers on topics related to variation in caregiving and the impact of early experiences on child development.
