About
Maria Griglio is the directing attorney of the Children’s Law Center of California’s (CLC) Family Support and Advocacy Center (FSAC), which provides preventative legal advocacy and case management support to parents who had child welfare involvement as children. The goal of the program is to prevent the intergenerational cycle of foster care. Griglio spent the first 10 years of her legal career with CLC representing both children and parents in dependency court. She then transitioned to the Office of the Los Angeles County Counsel and represented the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) for 17 years, most recently as lead counsel in a courtroom dedicated to commercially sexually exploited children, where she served on numerous committees and conducted trainings throughout the country. Griglio returned to CLC in 2022 to create and direct their new prevention program.
