Dr. Allycen Kurup is a post-doctoral fellow in the UCLA EMPWR Clinic, where they provide psychotherapy services to LGBTQ+ youth, young adults, and their families. They also work with the UCLA Prevention Center of Excellence to develop and deliver trauma informed and culturally humble training and education to individuals within Los Angeles County. Dr. Kurup received their PhD in clinical psychological sciences from Purdue University, and completed their predoctoral internship at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Broadly, Dr. Kurup’s clinical, research, and community engagement work focuses primarily on working with LGBTQ+ youth and young adults to promote wellbeing and resilience. They are interested in incorporating resilience promotion into digital communication experiences as well.
