Cindy Franco (she/her/ella) is a senior social worker with Public Counsel's Immigrants’ Rights Project (IRP) in the unaccompanied children's team. She works directly with unaccompanied youth, integrating social work into the legal services Public Counsel provides. Centering a trauma informed and holistic approach, she works to empower clients to build autonomy and partner with their attorney in their legal matters. Before joining Public Counsel in 2020, she worked as a domestic violence advocate at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where she provided direct services to individuals experiencing domestic violence. Cindy has presented at the National Latinx Social Work Conference and at local universities on her work on integration of social workers in the legal setting. She holds a master's in social work from Boston College, and a bachelor’s in social work from California State University, Long Beach.
