Overview

This course provides an overview of implicit bias and the ways in which it happens in the brain through categorization, pattern recognition, and automatic thoughts. We also discuss personal and social impacts of implicit bias. We will also identify and mitigate unintended effects of biases in the self, and understand how bias can lead to racism. We will cover common terms such as prejudice, oppression, and privilege. Participants will learn tools to challenge racism and biases.
