Overview

Medications for alcohol use disorder and medications for opioid use disorder are underutilized in mental health settings. This presentation will provide an overview of the medications used to treat alcohol use disorder and the medications used to treat opioid use disorder with a focus on the utilization of these medications within community mental health settings specifically including assertive community treatment / full service partnership programs. Given that mental health clinicians are in an optimal position to treat alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder in clinical practice, and given that clients seen in community mental health settings are less likely that other community populations to obtain primary care and other medical services, this presentation addresses a key gap in the provision of client-centered comprehensive community mental health care. Recorded on June 10, 2020.

Please note that CEs are only available by attending the live virtual training, not the anytime session.
