Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Treating Clients With Substance Use Disorder
Overview
Approximately 10% of adults in the United States have been diagnosed with a drug disorder in their lives, and 75% have not received any form of treatment (NIH, 2015). Through the exploration of evidence that supports the use of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) with individuals who have been diagnosed with substance use disorder (SUD), as well as an overview of key CBT interventions, this training will offer behavioral health practitioners skills and practical tools for working with clients who have co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
