Overview

This training explores the concept of a trauma exposure response that is often experienced by those in helping roles for individuals who have experienced significant trauma, as presented in the book Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others by Laura van Dernoot Lipsky. The 16 facets of the trauma exposure response will be reviewed with an opportunity for participants to have a conversation about their work experiences related to these concepts. Strategies for self-care and provider wellbeing will also be discussed. This training is intended for field-based intensive mental health and outreach service providers working in Los Angeles County. Anytime session recorded on August 29, 2023.
