This training helps practitioners build their skills in the assessment of suicide and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) with clients. We explore the emotional experience of doing an assessment, the epidemiology of suicide and NSSI, the components of assessment, contextual and empirical challenges to assessment, and recommendations to help address these challenges. This training is intended for field-based mental health and outreach workers in Los Angeles County. Anytime session recorded on January 16, 2024.
