The Ethics and Practice of Applying Radical Healing
Overview
In this Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Seminar, participants will be provided with a deep dive into the psychological framework of radical healing (French et al., 2020). This framework is centered on healing from racial trauma and builds from elements of liberation psychology, Black psychology, ethnopolitical psychology, and intersectionality theory. In this training, participants will learn how to apply the model in practice with Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities (Adames et al., 2022), and deepen their understanding of the ethical stance required of practitioners of this framework. Further, participants will be introduced to the model of radical hope, which is a core anchor of the radical healing model (Mosley et al., 2020).
