Overview

This is a three-part speaker series for the general public to change narratives, address misunderstandings about domestic violence and child welfare, and uplift new stories to drive structural changes for specific audiences in the child welfare and domestic violence communities. We will provide an overview of domestic violence and the transition from mandatory reporting to mandatory supporting. Recent relevant laws and policy changes will be discussed, as well as the role of law enforcement in domestic violence. The shift toward mandatory support will be discussed, along with its relevance in the medical field. We will emphasize the complicated relationship between domestic violence and mandatory reporting, and how these issues arise in mental health and healthcare settings.
