Overview


This learning experience is designed to help you better understand and support newcomer students in your school community. You’ll learn what students may experience before, during, and after migrating to the U.S., and examine the range of stressors they face that can affect both their mental health and learning. You’ll also learn how to apply trauma and resilience informed strategies to foster academic achievement and emotional wellbeing. Finally, we’ll share valuable resources to support the overall wellness of newcomer students. Whether you are an educator, counselor, or school staff member, this training offers practical tools to help newcomer students thrive.
