Overview

Clinical supervisors are responsible for multiple tasks, including ensuring ethical practice, adherence to organizational policies, enhancing skill development, and addressing clinician personal wellbeing. Surprisingly, there has been no consolidation of evidence around the success of any given model of supervision. Motivational interviewing (MI) has demonstrated success in multiple settings where change is the desired outcome. Through this training, supervisors can strengthen their ability to lead effectively using an evidence-based style of communication that has been shown to build strong engagement, resolve ambivalence, and facilitate change. The training will include interactive discussions using case examples, as well as opportunities for skill development and practice.
