Reproductive Goals Counseling, Contraception, and Mental Health
Overview
Very little education is given to prescribers of psychotropics on how to integrate sexual health into their treatment plans. However, both mental health and sexual health are essential — and closely linked — elements of overall wellness. This webinar will explore concepts of reproductive justice and how they apply to people of childbearing age with mental illness and substance use disorders. We will briefly discuss common contraception methods and explore how they interact with psychotropics. In addition, we will present evidence-based language for talking to behavioral health clients about their reproductive goals.
