Attachment, Trauma, and Healing: Understanding the Impact of Trauma on Children and Youth in Child Welfare

This training teaches mental health providers basic knowledge, skills, and values for working with children and youth in the child welfare system who have attachment disorders. This training explores attachment theory, the causes of attachment disorders from birth to 21 years of age, and provides effective solutions including: attachment-focused assessment and diagnosis, defining and recognizing behavioral signs of attachment disorders, supporting and educating caregivers, and treatment interventions for children and caregivers that facilitate developing secure attachment.
