Overview

A self and community care open session for adults who support young people in Los Angeles County. This session will be facilitated by InsideOUT Writers. This creative writing workshop invites participants into a grounding space to reflect on burnout, emotional exhaustion, and the wounds that come with caring deeply. Rooted in Rumi’s words, this session reframes exhaustion not as weakness, but as evidence of heart and commitment to the work. Through guided reflection prompts, participants are encouraged to embrace vulnerability without shame, explore what rest and care truly mean for them, and reconnect with moments of light and renewal.

These sessions are for educators, teaching artists, caregivers, social workers, mental health professionals, youth advocates, and others who dedicate their hearts and energy to LA’s young people. Take a break to explore creativity, reconnect with joy and purpose, build community, support your own healing and wellbeing, and let off steam!
