Core Competencies in Clinical Supervision
Overview
This training will provide attendees with an opportunity to explore the core competencies of clinical supervision in a behavioral health setting. Foundational to this exploration will be an interrogation and impact of their own social identities (e.g., age, gender, race, religion, sexuality, etc.) and social location on their role as a clinical supervisor. The training will also provide an opportunity for attendees to assess how their own personal experiences may impact their practice of core clinical supervision competencies. Also highlighted will be the interconnectedness between the supervisor-supervisee relationship. Ultimately, attendees will be poised to demonstrate best practices and develop a plan for continued professional development around core competencies for providing clinical supervision. This training is intended for field-based mental health and outreach workers in Los Angeles County.
