Overview

Whether we were given a title, assigned a project or in an ad-hoc situation where decisions need to be made, at some point we find ourselves in positions of leadership. How we receive information is just as essential as how we convey it. This Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Seminar will define the foundations of effective communication, demonstrate the importance of communicating clear and succinct directives, and differentiate between hearing someone and truly listening. Throughout the hour, participants will engage in thought-provoking self-assessment. Participants will also understand the opportunity costs, whether it be in lost time or dollars spent, resulting from miscommunication in the workplace. The resulting shift in perspective on how to communicate with clarity will benefit participants in their daily interactions with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
