Dr. Emily Ricketts is an assistant clinical professor in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, where she conducts research, supervises trainees, directs the psychology practicum training program, and serves as associate director of the psychology doctoral internship training program. Her research centers on sleep and circadian disturbance and associated interventions, including bright light therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and novel therapeutics in Tourette’s disorder, obsessive compulsive and related disorders, and commonly co-occurring disorders (including ADHD and anxiety). Her research incorporates multimodal assessment of sleep and circadian rhythms, including sleep diary, actigraphy, and salivary melatonin assessment.

She has received grant funding for multiple sleep and circadian projects from organizations such as: the National Institute of Mental Health; the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's (NHLBI) PRogram To Increase Mentoring of Early stage investigators in health-related research (PRIME); the Tourette Association of America; the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation; the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation; the UCLA Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI); and the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine's Health Equity and Translational Social Science (HETSS) Research Theme.
