About

Emily C. Dossett, MD, MTS, is a reproductive psychiatrist, clinical associate professor of psychiatry and of obstetrics & gynecology at USC’s Keck School of Medicine, and medical director of Los Angeles County’s PROMISE perinatal psychiatry access program. She has 20 years of experience, including serving as the founder and director of the LA General’s integrated OB mental health program, and working with pregnant and postpartum people facing a wide range of mental health challenges. She is passionate about research, advocacy, and teaching aimed at improving access to, and the quality of, perinatal behavioral health in the safety-net setting. Dr. Dossett firmly believes that all people have the right to have a child, the right not to have a child, and the right to raise a child in a safe and healthy environment, and her career is focused on supporting people with mental health challenges to realize these rights.
