Overview


Feelings and emotions can be challenging to discuss with youth and their family members. Sometimes a little support is needed to find the right feeling word. With the Feeling Words and Feeling Thermometer handout, facilitators and clinicians can offer strategies for youth and families to increase emotion regulation and awareness. Tokens

Sharing affirming words with family members can be fun when you hand out a token alongside the positive message. Tokens are given as a “high five” or way to acknowledge one another in a family or group setting. First, explain the purpose of tokens, then use them during the meeting with a facilitator.
