Crisis Intervention and Telehealth

Overview
Crisis Intervention requires a clinician to develop skillsets in a variety of evidence-based practices to work towards resolution safely and swiftly. With telehealth utilization on the rise from COVID-19, rapport building is essential for remote crisis intervention. We will discuss communication techniques and strategies for video and audio platforms. A major focal point of discussion regarding crisis intervention will be from a symptom-based approach. This training will emphasize de-escalation techniques for agitation associated with methamphetamine induced psychosis. We will also address panic attacks through CBT and mindfulness interventions. We will take time to discuss application of these interventions through shared dialogue, vignettes, and case consultation. Recorded on November 5, 2020.
Please note that CEs are only available by attending the live virtual training, not the anytime session.
