Collaborative Team-Based Care in FSP
Collaborative teamwork is the cornerstone of effective service delivery and the capacity to meet the complex needs of individuals with severe mental illness who receive public mental health services (Tomizawa, Shigeta, & Reeves, 2017). Working well as a team can be challenging since mental health providers are often trained to focus on distinctions among professional fields. This training will identify strategies for developing a shared team mission and vision and a shared case-load approach to delivering services. We will review practices for team coordination and communication, and leading constructive team meetings. Anytime session recorded on October 25, 2023.
- Define best practices for leading Full Service Partnership (FSP) team meetings, including the frequency of meetings and the processes for facilitating communication and coordination within the meeting framework
- Discuss strategies to help develop norms related to collaborative practice where all team members are equal partners and contributors
- Review strategies for client care coordination with an emphasis on managing client safety and implementing crisis debriefing to maximize team responsiveness
