Overview


Understanding the menstrual cycle is an integral part of promoting sexual and reproductive health. Read this handout for in-depth information on the physiology and hormonal changes of menstruation, how this impacts one’s body, and methods for supporting overall wellbeing in menstruating people. Teaching young people about their reproductive anatomy, as well as the mind-body connection of the menstrual cycle, empowers them to make safe and informed decisions about their bodies and sex.
