Overview


The Foundations for Building Youth Resilience course is designed for mental health professionals seeking to enhance their ability to support youth in developing resilience skills to navigate life challenges in a group setting. This course offers video demonstrations and downloadable resources to introduce core components of the curriculum that can be used either for developing a deeper understanding of youth resilience or as a prerequisite for the Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS) Resilience Curriculum live training. These foundational skills will be further explored in the live training for practical application in daily practice.

Working With Families Using TeleFOCUS

This training will cover adapting Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS) for Families sessions for delivery using secure video conferencing. Participants will learn how to lead FOCUS sessions, create the narrative timeline, use online tools, administer the Family Check-In, and communicate with clients. Requirement: Participants must have attended a 2-day FOCUS for Families training to participate in this virtual training.

FOCUS for Early Childhood emphasizes positive parent-child interactions, caregiver reflective functioning, early development, learning, and self-expression through play and behavior management. FOCUS Resilience Curriculum for Early Education

This adaptation of the Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS) Resilience Curriculum is intended to be implemented as a group-based curriculum for children ages 3 to 8 years old.
