Tides of Transition: Arts-Based Tools for Discovering Hope and Healing Through the Stages of Care (Part 2)
Overview
Change and transition can be inevitable in the lives of young people impacted by the child welfare system and for the adults who support them. This session will center on arts-based strategies to nurture healing-centered care, especially through times of transition. We will identify goals for self-care and ways to sustain hope in relation to termination, grief, and healing. We will explore ideas for the creation and use of transitional objects to promote self-expression and connection. We will learn how the creation of hope kits and hope boxes can ease distress and offer a healthy coping mechanism. Together we will reflect on how sharing a hope box with a trusted friend, caregiver, or colleague can help identify needs and express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to speak aloud.
If applicable, 2 CE credits are available.
