In this Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Seminar, Dr. Jessica Lasater will cover various aspects of addressing substance use among youth. Dr. Lasater will begin with an overview of current trends, highlighting the increased use of substances like opioids, hallucinogens, and cannabis among youth. The presentation will also discuss the importance of accurate diagnosis and the challenges of comorbid mental health issues. Participants will explore the intergenerational differences impacting substance use and the foundational principles of the 12-step program, reinterpreted for youth.
