Overview
This collection of brief presentations is focused on providing mental health providers with a better understanding of their own responses to uncertain times. In addition to gaining insight, participants will develop strategies and learn strategies to combat stress, anxiety, and worry. With a focus on mindfulness, each presentation views self-care from a different perspective to provide multiple options for tending to ones' own self-care needs.

Positive Psychology and Wellbeing for Clinicians and Consumers
Drawing from the latest research and intervention, this video addresses compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma in the COVID-19 era by introducing elements of positive psychology to help “rewire” the brain for happiness. Watch this video to understand the research regarding burnout and concepts from the study of neuroplasticity presenting a rationale for rewiring the brain for happiness. Provider Wellbeing & Self-Care: Imagination as a Resource in a Time of Crisis
This training discusses the possible uses of imaginative states of mind (reverie, daydreaming, night dreaming, fantasy, imagery, etc.) in weathering crises and recovering from trauma. In particular, it discusses the role of imagination as a tool for orienting positively toward the future in ways that build vitality, courage, and community in the present. Provider Wellbeing & Self-Care: Mindfulness-Based Self-Regulation
This training entails a discussion of key concepts involved in emotional and physical wellbeing, including emotional self-regulation, behavioral regulation, and mindfulness skills. The primary aim of mindfulness practice is to develop a receptive state of mind that interrupts habitual patterns of perception and reactivity, ultimately fostering clear perception and equanimity. The present training provides instruction in mindfulness training, an experiential mindfulness exercise, and a discussion about the application of mindfulness training to stress reduction.
