About
The DMH + UCLA Prevention Center of Excellence (COE) is committed to improving the wellbeing of Los Angeles County by creating a robust continuum of workforce development programs. Its offerings aim to support the development and sustainment of prevention networks that are both trauma and resilience informed. The COE capitalizes on DMH’s service delivery experience and footprint alongside UCLA’s interdisciplinary expertise in mental health prevention training, education, and implementation support to improve both the provision of care and wellbeing in the workplace. The COE’s goal is to optimize and sustain trauma and resilience informed programs that leverage community platforms to create a robust continuum of workforce development programs. Its offerings aim to support the development and sustainment of prevention networks that are both trauma and resilience informed.

Promoting Secure Attachments: Strategies for Supporting Youth and Families
This course is designed to equip providers with essential knowledge and skills to support youth and families affected by trauma and relational ruptures. Using attachment principles, participants will explore the effects of trauma and relational ruptures on youth development, brain function, and behaviors across the lifespan.
